Lucia Buricelli
Born in Venice in 1994, she currently divides her time between Venice and Milan. She began taking photographs while in high school, exploring Venice’s narrow calli: street photography was her first approach to the medium.
In 2017–2018, she attended a photojournalism course at the International Center of Photography in New York, where she began combining her passion for street photography with a documentary approach to storytelling.
Today, she photographs a wide range of subjects, with a particular interest in urban spaces. She uses flash and color as tools to highlight and select from the immense variety of the world around us.
Her photographs have been published in international publications including The New York Times, The New Yorker, Time, Vogue, Financial Times, The Wall Street Journal, Wired, BuzzFeed, Vice, Internazionale, and many others.
